The Sound Teacher Ethos

Passionate about the impact of hearing and listening on learning and life. My first priority is to get therapy out there to people and make an immediate difference to their lives.

Aim to meet clients’ needs without over-complicating things. I willingly share strategies that can improve auditory, physical and cognitive health at minimum cost.

Trust the client to ensure that they engage safely with all activities. Have confidence that the client shares my expectations to stick with a therapy plan and not cut corners.

Recognise we are all human and sometimes our lives, priorities or circumstances change. Work mutually to find solutions if things don’t go to plan.

Uphold the value of specialist electronic equipment by bearing the cost of normal wear and tear myself. Correspondingly, clients must look after equipment in the appropriate manner and take responsibility for badly damaged or lost equipment.

Acknowledge the value of my own practitioner training and licensing as a pathway to giving access to the Tomatis® method. Encourage clients to become independent and pass on their new found knowledge and skills to family, friends and wider community.

Terms and Conditions

Rationale: Maintaining therapy outcomes is a skill for life. Once a client has accessed the Tomatis® method they are encouraged to become independent and will be supported with this in a variety of ways. The Tomatis® method is most effective when clients share their new found knowledge and pass on skills to family, friends and the wider community. Sound learning for life.

Minimising complex interactions: The Sound Teacher will meet first-time clients face-to-face where possible, to discuss expectations and hand over equipment. Equipment is sent by post using special next day delivery that tracks the parcel and requires the parcel to be properly packaged, addressed and signed for.

Prompt return of equipment: This is essential as devices need to be serviced and passed on to other clients. Delays in returning equipment is a cost to the business and is unfair to other clients. If equipment is lost in the post and there is no evidence of special delivery or correct address the client will be liable for the cost of replacing the equipment.

The Sound Teacher Ethos and Terms and Conditions are established to minimise:

  • Interactions that are excessively complex.

  • Cutting corners with a therapy plan.

  • Resisting ideas for becoming independent.

  • Lack of commitment to maintaining therapy outcomes.

  • Delay in returning equipment.

  • Ignoring requests for the specific shipping requirements.

Reservations Policy

The Sound Teacher is a single person provider of the Tomatis® method of sound and listening therapy. The first priority is to get therapy equipment out to clients. That is not always possible if stock is with other clients or clients are slow in returning equipment. The Sound Teacher operates a waiting list if there is not sufficient stock to meet clients’ needs. As soon as equipment becomes available you will be notified.
